As a Vice President Regulatory Strategy Lead in Commercial and Investment Bank Regulatory Engagement Management (Markets) team, you will lead regulatory exams and ongoing supervisory engagements with prudential bank regulators. You partner with senior leaders across Markets, Market Risk, Control Management, and corporate functions to coordinate consistent, high-quality engagement and deliver timely, accurate responses. You own the end-to-end exam lifecycle, including planning, execution, tracking, escalation, and senior management reporting. You help us maintain strong regulator and stakeholder relationships while driving a disciplined, strategic approach to engagement.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate responses to regulatory exams, including chairing meetings, managing requests, and producing senior management reporting
- Oversee recurring supervisory meetings between first- and second-line stakeholders and regulators, ensuring readiness and follow-through
- Manage the full lifecycle of regulatory examinations and ongoing monitoring engagements from planning through closure
- Advise and provide credible challenge to Line of Business and Function leads to drive consistent, strategic regulatory engagement
- Coordinate with engagement managers across lines of business and functions to align messaging and approach for Markets regulatory coverage
- Escalate issues that arise during engagements promptly and effectively through appropriate channels
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders
- Partner across Markets, Market Risk, Control Management, and corporate functions to deliver comprehensive and consistent responses
- Maintain thorough, accurate records of exams in progress, recurring meetings, and management information reporting provided to regulators
- Oversee development and coordination of presentation materials used in regulatory engagements
- Monitor regional regulatory activities and support consistent global messaging by coordinating with regional engagement teams
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including experience at a large financial institution or regulator, or in audit, consulting, or legal
- Experience and knowledge of institutional Markets and related risk and control disciplines, including market risk, control management, compliance, audit, or operational risk
- Demonstrated experience with regulators’ exam processes and regulatory matters
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong track record of managing senior stakeholder relationships
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and the ability to summarize complex information clearly
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to comprehensive, high-quality execution
- Experience using large language model chat tools and other advanced analytics or automation tools to support work efficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including PitchPro+, Word, and Excel
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience covering Market Risk and institutional business within Markets from first or second line coverage
