Job summary

As an Executive Director in Markets Financial Resource Management, you will lead and develop the Equities Financial Resource Management team, partnering with Equities and Prime Financial Services management and desk heads to optimize the business’s financial resource footprint. You will work closely with Trading, Financing, and Client Service organizations across Equities and Prime Financial Services, and collaborate with a broad range of investment bank and corporate support functions. As a member of Markets Financial Resource Management, you will assess capital, balance sheet, and funding/liquidity needs; understand regulatory constraints; and translate firm strategy into actionable opportunities that improve profitability and resource efficiency. You will contribute to cross-product initiatives across Markets lines of business and support strategic projects and senior management reporting.

Job responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on capital, balance sheet, funding, and liquidity, and apply this expertise to identify challenges and opportunities for the Equities and Prime Financial Services franchises.
  • Establish and drive an integrated capital and funding strategy across Markets trading businesses.
  • Analyze key financial metrics that drive performance across equity trading strategies and products, and identify opportunities to enhance returns and efficiency.
  • Assess the impact of internal policy and external regulatory changes on balance sheet, funding, liquidity, and capital costs, and support actions to manage those impacts.
  • Support key regulatory deliverables and initiatives (e.g. Basel 3 Endgame, GSIB, FRTB).
  • Lead and execute Financial Resource Management strategic initiatives to enhance business profitability and resource efficiency.
  • Develop and enhance reporting, tools, and analytics by partnering with Data Analytics and Technology teams, including scalable “big data” solutions where appropriate.
  • Prepare material and present Financial Resource Management insights, themes, and initiatives for senior management.
  • Support ad hoc strategic and business transformation projects as needed.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Financial Resource Management professionals, including goal-setting, prioritization, feedback, and performance management.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Strong understanding of balance sheet, funding/liquidity and capital and their impact on trading and financing businesses in Equities
  • Demonstrable people leadership experience, including coaching, delegation/prioritization, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and partner effectively across businesses and functions
  • Strong analytical skills, quantitative mindset, and excellent attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience and/or familiarity with market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk considerations for cash and derivatives products.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience developing reporting tools and/or analytics.
