As a Vice President, Outside Counsel Value Manager in the Office of the General Counsel (Outside Counsel Value Management & Legal Transformation), you will serve as a trusted advisor that partners to with stakeholders to improve pricing outcomes and value delivery. You will lead pricing strategy development, matter budgeting, and negotiations with external law firms, while scaling capabilities through technology and GenAI-enabled tools. This role provides the opportunity to drive firmwide adoption of modern pricing, scoping, and matter analytics practices—supporting informed decision-making across new and active matters.

Job Responsibilities
- Advise senior legal leaders and business stakeholders by translating financial and matter performance insights into clear, executive-ready recommendations
- Partner with senior lawyers and key stakeholders to develop pricing strategies, matter budgets, and appropriate fee arrangements (AFAs) across portfolios
- Lead negotiations with external law firms to align commercial terms, staffing expectations, and value outcomes
- Evaluate the impact of AI on pricing, profitability, staffing, and service delivery to inform forward-looking value frameworks
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled pricing tools to enhance forecasting accuracy, staffing models, and value measurement
- Collaborate on cross-functional GenAI and legal transformation initiatives spanning Legal, Finance, Legal Technology, Global Supplier Services, and the Office of the General Counsel
- Develop and deliver training and change management to strengthen capabilities in pricing, scoping, budgeting, and matter analysis
- Monitor legal market pricing trends and emerging best practices to continuously improve pricing strategy and governance
- Influence senior leadership strategic priorities by aligning business goals, spend impact and measurable outcomes
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with disciplined execution, clear prioritization, and strong stakeholder communication
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 8+ years of experience within a law firm, corporation, or professional services environment
- Proven experience supporting partners, senior lawyers, and/or executive business leaders in a highly matrixed organization
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage executive stakeholders, build credibility, drive alignment, and deliver with authority
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex analyses in a clear, compelling, executive-ready manner
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment applied to matter budgeting, pricing strategy, and fee arrangement development
- Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and complexity, set direction independently, and deliver outcomes in fast-evolving environments
- Strong program and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing firmwide initiatives across multiple workstreams
- Familiarity with legal pricing, legal matter management systems, and legal AI technologies
- High proficiency in PowerPoint, including executive-level storytelling and data visualization
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in an AmLaw 100 firm or a global professional services firm
- Experience developing and/or implementing pricing strategy frameworks or tools across business units
- Experience leading or supporting client-facing pricing discussions, negotiations, and/or RFP responses
- Experience driving adoption of new tools and processes through training, change management, and stakeholder enablement
- Experience partnering closely with cross functional teams on matter analytics, workflow improvements, or AI enablement initiatives
- Experience building value frameworks that connect pricing decisions to outcomes (forecast accuracy, staffing efficiency, profitability, or service delivery improvements)
