Role Overview

This important role is responsible for delivering growth of the U.S. product / fund offering within J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Private Markets business. You will help drive the U.S. business strategy across investment engines, product design, distribution channels, tax-aware and regulatory structuring, and strategic partnerships. You will work on commercial, technical, legal, and regulatory topics to bring new capabilities to market and support the continued expansion of Private Markets offerings in the U.S. with a focus on Private Wealth Alternatives (PWA) delivery.

This role sits at the center of a growing business and requires pro-active creativity, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to drive execution in a collaborative manner across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups. You will report to the Private Markets Head of Product and work closely with the Product Strategy and Development team. The role is for a vice president or executive director, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of the U.S. Private Markets business strategy across registered fund structures (including ’40 Act where applicable), wealth distribution channels, defined contribution opportunities, tax-aware strategies, strategic partnerships, and alternative routes to market.
  • Drive and coordinate commercial, tax, technical, legal, and implementation discussions with U.S. distribution channels and internal stakeholders.
  • Help design and implement U.S. tax-aware product structures and solutions.
  • Support the technical design of new products and innovations, including in response to regulatory developments and related market changes.
  • Support the design and expansion of product capabilities, including rated note feeders and multi-strategy co-investment solutions.
  • Monitor progress across ideation, product formation, distribution, and future product evolution, escalating and resolving key roadblocks.
  • Create clear, actionable recommendations from competitor, market, operational, and regulatory developments.
  • Contribute to technical thought leadership and strategy development for the Private Markets platform.
  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the end-to-end operating model in partnership with internal and external teams.
  • Assist with the integration of acquired Private Markets teams and new business capabilities.
  • Additional tasks are directed by Head of Product, Private Markets.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 5+ years of direct, relevant experience in private markets, fund structuring, product development, or a closely related area.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. fund structures, distribution models, and product delivery considerations.
  • Experience working across commercial, legal, tax, regulatory, and operational stakeholders.
  • Ability to absorb complex technical information and translate it into clear, practical actions.
  • Proven track record of driving execution and delivering change across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to operate effectively in new and ambiguous situations with limited direction.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to build credibility across senior stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with registered fund structures, wealth channels, defined contribution markets, or tax-aware investment solutions across Private Markets.
  • Familiarity with product innovation in response to regulatory developments.
  • Experience supporting strategic partnerships or new routes to market.
  • Experience integrating new businesses, capabilities, or acquired teams into an established platform.
  • Deep knowledge of private markets and alternative investment products.
