Who You Are

Justworks is seeking an Audio/Visual Engineer to join our team. You have demonstrated the ability to provision, configure, deploy and maintain AV systems for events and conferencing. You have worked within a customer service-driven environment and know how to execute technically as well as communicate empathetically. You understand and are passionate about owning AV as a core offering for employee experience and as a path into the future of a cooperative work environment. Must have people skills and be able to work cooperatively in order to better help the organization and each team succeed.

In this role, the ability to work closely and collaboratively with other teams and possess strong people skills is paramount. As an AV engineer, you will serve as a vital link between departments, fostering effective communication, building relationships based on trust and respect, and leveraging the expertise of cross-functional teams. Your role will involve actively engaging with stakeholders, listening to their perspectives, and appreciating their contributions to forge strong connections and promote a culture of collaboration. By effectively resolving conflicts, facilitating discussions, and maintaining clear and concise communication, you will ensure alignment, drive effective decision-making processes, and foster a sense of unity. Additionally, your people skills will extend to creating a positive work environment, where team members feel valued, motivated, and empowered to contribute their best. Your Success Profile

  1. Technical Skills:

Audio-Visual Systems: Comprehensive understanding of AV systems, including projection systems, video conferencing, digital signage, sound systems, and control systems.

System Design & Integration: Ability to design and integrate custom AV solutions tailored to client needs.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Proficient in identifying and resolving technical issues in AV equipment, providing regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.

Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of basic networking principles, IP configurations, and integration with other IT systems.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with AV software for system control, monitoring, and design, such as AutoCAD and relevant control system programming languages.

Communication Skills: Effective in communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders, providing clear instructions, and presenting proposals.

Customer Service: Focus on understanding and meeting client needs, providing responsive support and training as needed.

Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work with cross-functional teams including IT, facilities, and external vendors.

Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and creativity in finding solutions to complex AV challenges.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring precision in the design, installation, and documentation of AV systems.

What You Will Work On

  • Drive Conferencing technology into the future
    • Provide set-up and support of laptops, projectors, microphones, lighting, and sound systems within conference rooms, training rooms and public assembly
    • Configures room set-ups for meetings of various sizes including set-up, operation, and maintenance
    • Work collaboratively with other teams for company All Hands people experience
  • Lead and deliver audio and video solutions for in-house Events and Productions
    • Maintain a detailed and accurate inventory of all AV equipment
    • Manage the design, operation, maintenance, improvement, and storage of equipment
    • Provide technical assistance, training, and mentorship to IT engineers
    • Supervise and perform basic maintenance on audio, video, and related network equipment
    • Work closely with IT to ensure efficient and high-performance interoperability with the local corporate network
    • Troubleshoot studio cameras, confidence monitors, audio, wiring and ethernet connections in production spaces
    • Manage relationships with AV vendors
    • Coordinate shipping and receiving of units requiring repair
    • Maintain repair records of all equipment and systems
    • Install AV equipment
    • Evangelize the ideal techniques and best practices to Talent using the equipment e.g. microphone technique
  • Engineer audio and video recordings and live sound
    • Record and/or edit audio and video recordings of employees and visiting guests at the highest professional level
    • Operate video switcher for multi-camera video recording and live streaming of internal trainings, internal meetings, and events
    • Troubleshoot audio and video equipment during sound checks and live productions
    • Assist with setups when technical expertise and advice is required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of AV Technology experience designing, installing, and operating AV systems.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently, and manage simultaneous projects. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge and experience with multi-camera and multi-microphone techniques, digital consoles, signal processing, signal flow, and gain structure
  • Familiarity with relevant networking technology required, e.g., Dante
  • Experience with industry-standard audio and video workstation software and hardware
  • Experience with contemporary teleconferencing technologies like Zoom
  • Experience designing AV wiring and signal workflows for production facilities
  • CTS certification or willingness to earn CTS within 6 months of employment

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be in office three days a week minimum.

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $127,000.00 to $139,700.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
