The Opportunity
Kargo is seeking a proactive and experienced Director of Information Technology to lead all aspects of internal technology, with a strong focus on managing the helpdesk and in office IT operations. This role requires a technically adept and service oriented leader with 8+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in a managerial or director level role. The ideal candidate is hands on, thrives in a fast paced environment, and excels at balancing strategic infrastructure planning with day to day technical support. The Daily To-Do
- Lead and manage the internal IT team, with a focus on helpdesk operations, user support, and issue resolution.
- Oversee and maintain all in office technical systems including networking, AV equipment, video conferencing tools, and office infrastructure.
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure system reliability, data security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including Engineering, HR, and Facilities to support onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing technical needs.
- Manage software licenses, inventory, device procurement, and vendor relationships.
- Evaluate and implement new tools to improve internal efficiency and user experience.
- Provide tier 3 escalation support and ensure service level expectations are met.
- Prepare and manage the IT department budget, including forecasting future technology needs.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong expertise in managing helpdesk operations and desktop support in a hybrid or distributed office model.
- Solid understanding of networking, cloud services (Google Workspace, Okta, MDM, SaaS platforms), and office infrastructure.
- Experience supporting macOS, Windows, and mobile devices in an enterprise environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and oversee cross functional IT projects.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable, secure, and user friendly IT environments.
