Responsibilities

PowerSchool is seeking a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Data and AI-ML Strategy to lead our efforts in harnessing the power of data and AI-ML to enhance our product offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data strategy, AI, product management, and a passion for revolutionizing education.

 

  1. Data Strategy Leadership:

    • Contribute to and continue to enhance PowerSchool's comprehensive data strategy to position us as the leader in data and AI, aligned to our vision, mission, and values.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance policies and standards.
  2. AI-ML Strategy Development:

    • Lead the development of the company's AI-ML strategy for product management. 
    • Develop the GTM strategy and work closely with sales and marketing to expand our TAM. 
    • Identify opportunities to leverage AI-ML to enhance existing products and develop new offerings.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging AI-ML technologies.
  3. Product Enhancement:

    • Work closely with product managers to integrate AI-ML capabilities into our educational products and services.
    • Drive the development of data-driven features and functionalities that improve user experiences.
  4. Team Leadership:

    • Build and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, AI-ML experts, and product managers.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborate with C-level executives to align data and AI-ML strategies with overall business goals.
    • Engage with external partners, research institutions, and industry experts to stay at the forefront of AI-ML in education.
  6. Performance Metrics:

    • Define and track key performance metrics related to data and AI-ML initiatives.
    • Report progress to the executive team and board of directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA, PhD) preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in data strategy, AI-ML, and product management, with a focus on the education sector.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep knowledge of data analytics, AI, and machine learning technologies.
  • Familiarity with educational technology trends and industry challenges.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $138,000 – $261,881. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
