Koop Technologies
Account Executive, GovCon Solutions
Company: Koop Technologies
Position: Account Executive, GovCon Solutions
Type: Full-Time
Location: New York, NY (in-person or hybrid)
Who We Are:
Koop Technologies (“Koop”) helps trailblazing tech companies commercialize faster by taking care of compliance, security, and insurance requirements in a single, seamless GRC platform. Startups in AI & Software 2.0, Robotics, Energy & Climate, Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, and more verticals rely on Koop daily to satisfy contractual requirements from customers and the government.
This decade will be defined by Deep Tech. As Aerospace & Defense, dual-use, and federal-adjacent startups scale, they face increasingly stringent cybersecurity requirements — especially under CMMC and NIST 800-171. These requirements are complex, resource-intensive, and often misunderstood.
Koop’s mission is to simplify compliance for the most technically ambitious companies in the world while protecting society from a new generation of risks.
We are post-product-market-fit, growing rapidly, and expanding our compliance team to support product development and customer success in the CMMC space. We value strong work ethic, first-principles thinking, creative problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and technical depth.
Job Description:
We are looking for a senior Account Executive, GovCon Solutions who will play a pivotal role in both:
- Driving revenue growth by selling Koop’s CMMC compliance and GRC platform solutions to government contractors, and
- Helping shape how Koop positions and delivers CMMC automation capabilities within the GovCon market.
This is a high-impact IC role with significant ownership of the sales cycle. You will directly manage strategic customer engagements while helping refine our go-to-market strategy for CMMC compliance and defense-focused organizations.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Leadership, you will:
- Lead end-to-end sales cycles for Aerospace & Defense and federal-adjacent customers pursuing CMMC compliance
- Engage with security, compliance, and executive stakeholders to position Koop’s platform as the system of record for CMMC readiness and ongoing compliance
- Guide prospects through the business and operational value of automating NIST SP 800-171 implementation, SSP development, POA&M management, gap assessments, and audit preparation
- Translate CMMC Level 1 and 2 requirements into compelling product value for technical and non-technical buyers
- Build trusted relationships with CISOs, compliance leaders, founders, and federal program leaders within defense contractors and supply chain organizations
- Partner closely with Product to communicate customer needs and market insights related to CMMC workflows, control tracking, evidence collection, and reporting
- Collaborate with Marketing and Leadership on GovCon-focused go-to-market initiatives, including webinars, thought leadership, and customer education
- Act as a trusted advisor to prospects navigating the evolving CMMC landscape
- Stay current with CMMC rulemaking, DoD guidance, and evolving assessment standards to effectively educate customers
- Consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets while building a strong pipeline of qualified GovCon opportunities
You will join a team of product builders, engineers, and compliance professionals building the pioneering GRC platform for the Defense Industrial Base in the U.S.
Job Requirements:
- Strong experience selling cybersecurity, compliance, or GRC solutions into government contractors or defense-adjacent organizations
- Familiarity with CMMC Level 1 and 2 and NIST SP 800-171 requirements and the challenges organizations face achieving certification
- Understanding of DFARS 252.204-7012 and related DoD cybersecurity requirements
- Experience navigating complex enterprise or regulated sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to communicate technical and regulatory concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences
- Strong discovery, consultative selling, and solution positioning skills
- Founder mindset, strong ownership, and ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, or compliance sales
- Prior experience selling into the defense industrial base (DIB), federal contractors, or regulated industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience selling GRC, cybersecurity, or compliance automation platforms is strongly preferred
- Experience working with early-stage or high-growth companies is a strong plus
Administrative:
- In-person or hybrid role in New York City
- Competitive salary and generous equity
- Health, dental, and vision package
- Flexible time off and paid holidays
- Paid professional development (courses, certifications, conferences)
- Tremendous growth opportunity (professionally, personally, and financially)
