Overview

The Field & Partner Platform & Strategy team sits at the center of how we turn Microsoft’s AI business priorities into durable, executable go-to-market systems. We connect product, engineering, commerce, sales, partner, finance, and marketing teams to build the operating models, launch systems, data signals, executive rhythms, and field-ready strategies that help Microsoft land major business transitions with clarity and scale.

This is a newly forming Product Marketing Manager, Launch & Insights role on the Platform & Strategy team, blending Usage-Based Billing (UBB) insights with launch-operations support for Field & Partner Marketing. Reporting to the Director, Strategy, you’ll help turn usage and launch signals into clear insight, and help our launches land cleanly and consistently across the field and partner ecosystem. Because the role is still taking shape, we’re looking for a versatile, analytical builder who is comfortable with ambiguity and eager to help define the playbook as we go.

The role spans two connected areas. The first area is UBB Insights — developing the usage signals, telemetry, and reporting that measure adoption and consumption, and translating them into insights that inform launch and go-to-market decisions. The second area is Launch Operations — supporting the centralized “launch once, land everywhere” motion so new products, SKUs, and commerce moments are ready, transactable, and well-briefed.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

Insights

  • Build and maintain the usage signals, telemetry, and reporting that track Usage-Based Billing (UBB) adoption and consumption across segments.
  • Translate usage and launch data into clear, actionable insights — dashboards, readouts, and narratives — that inform launch and go-to-market decisions.
  • Define customer cohorts and priority-customer views (including LXP target-customer signals) to focus effort where it matters most.
  • Partner with data, finance, and platform teams to keep telemetry and reporting accurate, consistent, and reusable.

Launch Operations

  • Support the centralized launch motion — contributing to workback plans, milestones, dependency tracking, and go/no-go readiness for qualifying launches (new SKU, commerce change, or true customer-impact moment).
  • Help prepare briefings and landing materials — NDA briefing decks, FAQs, and landing kits — and help route launch intake and escalations.
  • Coordinate across Product, Engineering, PMM, and audience teams to keep launch details — rollout sequencing, entitlements, transactability, and trials — accurate and current.
  • Contribute to the signals, offers, and trial constructs that help launches convert into adoption and usage.

Ways of working

  • Help design and scale repeatable operating models, tools, and frameworks that bring clarity to complex initiatives and enable teams to execute consistently across launches, insights, and go-to-market motions.
  • Build alignment across cross-functional stakeholders, fostering shared ownership and driving teams toward common business objectives.
