As a Technical Writer you will create, develop, plan, write, and edit comprehensive technical documents. You will conduct interviews with various users, technical staff, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather data for documentation. You will also research and synthesizes technical information into detailed manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users, pinpointing where content is most appropriate and needed. You may have the opportunity to recommend formats responsive to technical and customer requirements and use metrics to measure customer satisfaction. You may also assist in reviews and improve content as well as tools and processes used for publishing, experimenting with innovative content experiences and methods as needed.

  • Engage with customers and address customer feedback on content for their areas under guidance.
  • Help inform content strategy with feedback from content creation. Identify the content that maps to customer goals based on an understanding of the content and customers.
  • Receives feedback and incorporates changes into content for an assigned area and/or for possible inclusion in a portfolio.
  • Use appropriate tools to move content to publication after review is complete for a particular area as assigned, where applicable. Works with stakeholders to assess shipped content for potential improvements. Assists in testing and building customer scenarios.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,090 - $10,120 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $6,690 - $11,030 per month.
