Overview

Join us as we take SharePoint & Microsoft Viva -- our fast-growing AI-driven content management, intranet, and employee engagement products -- to the next level. We are looking for a seasoned Product Leader to drive product strategy, execution, and ultimately – growth for SharePoint News and Viva Amplify: our premium cross-channel Corporate Communications product. With two billion pieces of content added to SharePoint daily, you will join an organization that is responsible for delivering compelling AI-driven experiences on top of one of the largest stores of knowledge on the planet.

As a Principal Group Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the product vision, setting long-term strategy and driving day-to-day execution for a portfolio of at scale and nascent products. You’ll lead a high-performance team of 5 – 6 product managers and partner deeply with design, engineering, customer experience, research, and data science to ship high-quality products with intensity and velocity. You will also be an important member of the extended SharePoint Experiences Leadership Team, setting the tone and driving high-performance product culture for the overall SharePoint Experiences organization.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a mix of strategic thought leadership, sound product / business judgement, and pragmatic execution skills. You will lead with empathy and intensity, setting a high bar while being inclusive. You will also demonstrate judgement, knowing how to reason over quantitative and qualitative input from various sources and make quick, yet thoughtful decisions. You are able to summarize at the executive level and dig into the details where needed. You will enjoy engaging directly with customers, seeing firsthand the incredible impact we have while being deeply curious about how we can do better. You will be a collaborator, developing deep relationships with teams internal and external to SharePoint, while also disagreeing respectfully when needed. And finally, you will be a coach – empowering the team with insights gleaned by sweating the details and using the product to run your team and business.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams of PMs.
  • Experience handling successful delivery from strategy to engineering requirements to user adoption.
  • Experience with web apps, content creation or content systems.
  • Experience with web publishing and authoring tools.

Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Group Product Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering outcomes across a portfolio of large scale as well as emerging businesses within Microsoft 365. Core responsibilities include -

  • Coach, manage and grow a high performing team of 5 – 6 Product Managers.
  • Define the product strategy and decompose it into a clear set of sequenced priorities to achieve Product-Market fit and overall product / business growth.
  • Create a data-driven, customer-oriented product making culture, that prioritizes craft without compromising on velocity.
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, Data Science, CxPM, and Research to deliver high-quality product outcomes.
  • Develop and nurture partnerships within the SharePoint organization and with key partners teams (Outlook, Viva Engage, Teams, etc.) to deliver success for our customers.
  • Establish and leverage high bandwidth sources of customer signal, working closely with the Customer Experience PM and key stakeholders in Customer-0 (Microsoft).
  • Directly engage with customers and represent the product – at conferences (like Ignite), customer pre- and post-sales calls and EBCs.
