In our Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) team, we’re ensuring responsible development and deployment of the next generation of cutting-edge generative AI models like GPT-4. If you join our Responsible AI team, you will join an organization committed to partnering with stakeholders across policy, research, and engineering to help every product team in Microsoft ship these evolving technologies responsibly.
On the Responsible AI team, we work to ensure that each new product or technology we build is developed and used responsibly. As a Group Technical Program Manager, AI Regulation and Compliance, you will drive strategy and implementation of technologies, products, engineering systems and programs across Microsoft to support AI compliance and regulation.
This role requires a deep understanding of generative AI use cases and responsible AI, a keen sense of product to support responsible AI commitments while keeping product innovation in mind, and strong technical background to understand responsible AI measurement and mitigation techniques. Experience working with legal and policy and running large scale programs will also be essential for this role.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/technical program management
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years people management experience.
- 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 8+ years experience designing and shipping complex products in AI, cloud or enterprise; AND 5+ years of experience in machine learning and/or AI.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in Responsible AI or Digital Safety.
- Experience with Generative AI.
- Experience running risk management or other compliance programs and implementation.
Technical Program Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will build and drive implementation for AI compliance and regulation enabling Microsoft and customers to apply AI responsibly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop a deep understanding of generative AI technology, use cases, and responsible AI practices.
- Spend significant time with engineering teams, homing in on successful patterns and trends to drive new product design and development.
- Use creative thinking to synthesize successful solutions for regulation and compliance and partner to implement across products, processes, and people.
- Partner closely with engineers and scientists to build models, application programming interfaces (APIs), services, and complex systems at scale.
