Overview

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Frameworks team at Microsoft develops AI software that enables running AI models everywhere, from the world’s fastest AI supercomputers, to servers, desktops, mobile phones, IoT devices, and internet browsers. We collaborate with hardware teams and partners to build the software stacks for AI across Microsoft.

We are looking to hire a Senior Product Manager- AI Frameworks to join our team and be at the forefront of accelerating AI model deployment across billions of devices worldwide. As a key member of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on the latest and most advanced AI models, ensuring they run seamlessly on a variety of devices, from desktops to mobile phones. You will engage with leading hardware vendors such as NVidia, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm, driving innovation and collaboration to push the boundaries of what's possible. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in our open-source community, contributing to and managing projects that have a global impact.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years’ experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in deep learning, machine learning and/or AI

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to identify and understand customer needs, quickly iterate products based on customer feedback, and translate these insights into effective product designs.
  • In-depth knowledge of AI model inferencing, particularly on devices inferencing.
  • Hands-on use of development tools for AI models and their lifecycle
  • Experience in managing and contributing to open-source communities.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners and engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends in AI. Passionate about continuous learning and staying updated with industry advancements.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to build specifications, iterate on designs, and align the roadmap with customer needs.
  • Analyze customer feedback and market trends to refine and improve product offerings.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and channels for product adoption.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with these customers and channels, driving adoption growth.
  • Track business impact using OKRs and KPIs, ensuring compliant telemetry with engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and potential customers.
  • Act as a customer advocate within the organization, prioritizing customer needs and feedback in product development.
