Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) offer unmatched flexibility and scalability, empowering businesses to efficiently manage their workloads and optimize resource usage. With the rapid growth in cloud adoption, the Azure Compute General Purpose VM Product Management team is seeking an experienced product leader to shape the future of Azure VMs and lead a team of highly talented VM Product Managers.
As an Azure VM Principal Product Management Manager, you will drive customer innovation with new VM offerings, define a roadmap for a portfolio of VMs, and oversee the entire VM product life cycle. This role provides the opportunity to establish deep customer relationships, utilize quantitative and qualitative data to make product recommendations, and develop products based on cutting-edge technologies. It is a unique opportunity for a driven individual who excels at creating clarity from ambiguity and guiding others through a fast-paced and ever-evolving market landscape.
Candidates should be skilled at collaborating with both external and internal customers, as well as internal engineering teams across the company. As the leader of a team of Product Managers, you will be responsible for identifying and responding to customer requests. The ideal candidate must be proficient at influencing within a highly matrixed environment, setting objectives and key results, and leading others in scoping problems by identifying key inputs, stakeholders, and outcomes.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years people management experience.
- 3+ years experience working in virtual machines or cloud based services.
- 2+ years experience working with server hardware.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years people management experience.
Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute long-range plans and the team’s core objectives and key results.
- Develop scalable processes that increase team agility.
