Overview
The IC3 Media Delivery Network Relay team develops and operates a global highly available and resilient fleet of TURN relays. The relays are needed to establish media connectivity and relay data for core communication products at Microsoft. Our task is to ensure the relay meets not only functional, but also strict quality, latency, compliance, and security requirements at scale with optimal cost. As an engineer on our team, you will be responsible for services on the critical path for many customer scenarios with great power and responsibility to directly affect the experience of millions of users every day.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C or C++
- OR equivalent experience.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Solid coding and software design skills in C++.
- Experience with socket-level networking in multithreaded backend services, preferably on Linux.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with system-level software development.
- Experience with deploying and operating services on any cloud platform.
- Experience in software development in Rust.
- Desire to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of service and supporting infrastructure codebase.
- Building and running automated tests for functional and non-functional requirements.
- Being part of an on-call rotation, investigating and mitigating incidents.
- Ensuring the service architecture meets current and future requirements.
- Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders both within and outside the team.
- Contributing to others' success and building on the results of others.
