Overview
With growing need to accelerate app delivery, provide intelligent routing and secure customer workloads with minimal possible latency at the edge, Microsoft's Azure Froontdoor team (AFD) is growing to meet these challenges and looking for experienced engineers to join agile and diverse engineering teams within AFD.
Azure Frontdoor infrastructure handles terabits of traffic and millions of requests per second with unparalleled reliability. The team operates across the entire stack, from intelligent network routing to Layer 7 content delivery and protection. Our mission is to deliver exceptional customer experiences by offering Layer 7 Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection at the edge, HTTP-level Content Delivery Network (CDN) capabilities, global load balancing, and Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection against DDoS and other security threats. This enables our customers to maintain high availability and consistency for their workloads.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing globally distributed, scalable, and low-latency services that provide application acceleration and service protection for key partners such as Office 365, Xbox, Azure, LinkedIn, and Azure customers. You will work closely with both internal and cross-geographical teams to ensure optimal efficiency and deploy highly instrumented code, generating critical metrics across millions of requests per second and data from thousands of global servers. This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate in the rapidly evolving cloud space, with the chance to contribute to open-source projects and work across multiple platforms (Windows/Linux) and languages (C/C++/C#/Rust).
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
