On the Microsoft Defender for Office team (MDO), we are responsible for delivering a cloud-based email and message filtering service that protects customers from advanced threats (malware, phish, fraud and spam) in Microsoft’s email and Teams collaboration workloads. MDO provides investigation, threat hunting and remediation capabilities that allow security teams to efficiently identify, prioritize, investigate, and respond to threats.

1. Qualifications Required

   • Demonstrates both strong analytic and big picture capabilities in problem solving approaches.
   • Deep understanding of security fundamentals
   • Versatility and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

2. Qualifications: Other Requirements
   • Bachelors or Masters in computer science, engineering or equivalent
   • 10+ years of software development experience with C#, C++ or Java
   • 5+ years of professional experience in building and managing highly scalable, secure, available and resilient Tier-0 cloud services
   • 3+ years of leadership experience leading software engineering teams that designed, architected security / compliance related products/services.

Our team is seeking a Principal Engineering Manager to drive the delivery of protections and experiences for email collaboration scenarios. In this role you will be responsible for helping design, architect, build, release and manage some of the core security solutions of M365. You will be partnering with multiple internal / external teams across the organization and across disciplines to lead the ongoing innovation, adoption, and evolution of the services.
