Overview

Microsoft’s Business Planning team shapes the pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies for our commercial portfolio, influencing the market significantly. Within this, the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy unit steers cross-cloud monetization across Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365, ensuring smooth adoption of commercial strategies by the Microsoft Field, Partners, and Customers.

We seek a Field Change Management & Enablement Director to lead the field sales execution of change management initiatives across our enterprise and small/medium size business segments. In this role, you will have collaboration and relationship-building skills, providing leadership to a team of change managers and enablement leaders to create comprehensive execution plans aligned with segment strategy. With deep knowledge of our field sales and the capacity to seamlessly integrate into the seller's business routine, the manager will oversee multiple change projects across organizational lines, serving as an advisor to leadership on change management and enablement strategies.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home. This role is in the United States. Relocation assistance is not provided.

In this role, you will oversee a team of change management leads to drive the global implementation and acceptance of new products and programs within our sales communities. Collaborating closely with stakeholders will be essential to gaining support for commerce changes in our field subsidiaries. In this role, you will also manage the change management office, focusing on complex launches that need field leader buy-in, and provide guidance on creating effective change plans while identifying potential issues.

You will play a crucial role in collaborating across Microsoft with stakeholders such as engineering and MBO (Market Business Operations). By fostering relationships and maintaining open lines of communication, you will ensure alignment of goals and strategies. Additionally, in this role, you will set clear and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tailored to drive revenue growth, leveraging insights and data-driven approaches. These KPIs will not only track progress but also serve as benchmarks for achieving significant milestones, thus ensuring that all teams are working in concert towards the common objective of enhancing revenue across our key commerce initiatives, such as MCA E (Microsoft customer agreement for enterprise) Accelerate.

In this role, you will be influential, synthesizing insights across projects to inform go-to-market objectives and leveraging executive presence to influence decisions. You will act as a subject matter expert, defining strategies across Microsoft corporate and field sales teams, collaborating with leaders to identify planning focus areas and cases for change. This role will integrate change management communicated by stakeholders, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement by providing feedback and sharing best practices to facilitate faster change.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years partner, cloud sales, consulting, licensing or functional experience in finance, engineering, or related
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years domain knowledge of commerce and Microsoft business through working in strategy consulting/Microsoft partner, or related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing strategies that drive significant organizational change at scale across variety of audiences, Prosci certification, or Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) or equivalent.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
    • OR 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years people management experience.
  • Analytical background focused on extracting insights from data to inform decision making and strategy.
  • Ability to create and track KPIs
  • Leadership abilities, including inspiring and motivating teams, fostering culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Proven record in project management, with planning, execution, and optimization.
  • An ability to envision the future state of the organization and develop a roadmap to achieve it.
  • Extensive cross-group collaboration and people skills, including leading cross functional teams
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels - from executives to individual contributors and drive impact

Business Planning M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
