Overview

The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more.

As a Partner Cloud Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in pre-sales phase, accelerating opportunities and guiding our most significant partners to designing and implementing innovative scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures that meet market needs while understanding their technical requirements and business objectives, guiding them through architectural design sessions, developing proof of concepts, and helping them transition from legacy systems to modern cloud environments, ensuring that their solutions are optimized for performance and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft's cloud offerings
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AN experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR equivalent experience
  • OR master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical/sales experience
  • Extensive related experience in technology IP solutions or services development, with a deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, and emerging cloud trends like generative AI (Artificial intelligence) and SaaS (Software as a Service) services
  • Strong background and in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft's cloud offerings (Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365)
  • Level 400 on Azure Infrastructure Compute, Network and Storage. In addition to core Infra, deep expertise is required on Azure Site Recovery, Azure Migrate, Azure Backup, Resource Mover, Platform Monitoring, Azure Active Directory, CAF and Landing Zones
  • Min L200 knowledge of Azure Security services stack and Min L300 knowledge on 2 of the following PostgreSQL or MySQL or MS SQL on Azure or AVD or AKS
  • Min L100 knowledge of Azure AI infrastructure
  • Experience in at least 2 of the following workloads i.e. SAP on Azure, AVS, Oracle on Azure is desirable
  • Experience in cloud architecture, migration, and optimization is highly desirable
  • Experience working in a customer-facing or partner facing role (e.g., internal and/or external)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications)

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a Partner Cloud Solution Architect will be to accelerate opportunities and build solutions with partners through:

  • Design Cloud Architectures - Ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure tailored to partner needs, allowing businesses to handle growth, and changing demands efficiently with strong hands-on project delivery and implementation experience in Networking, Landing Zones, and Migrations.
  • Lead Architectural Design Sessions - Facilitate the creation of effective and efficient cloud solutions through collaborative planning and design sessions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. This collaboration fosters innovation and problem-solving, leading to better-designed systems.
  • Develop Proof of Concepts and Pilots – Demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of proposed cloud solutions, gaining partner buy-in and driving adoption. These prototypes help validate ideas and identify potential issues before full-scale implementation, saving time and resources.
  • Provide Technical Guidance and Support - Ensure successful implementation and optimization of cloud solutions, enhancing partner satisfaction and solution performance, to maximize the value of partner’ cloud investments and adapt efficiently to challenges.
  • Transition Partner from Legacy Systems - Facilitate smooth transitions to modern cloud environments, improving efficiency and reducing operational risks for partners, to help them stay competitive by leveraging the latest technologies and cloud best practices.
