To drive these generative Artificial Intelligence experiences, Microsoft relies on ambitious advances in applied Artificial Intelligence research. The Business Copilot Artificial Intelligence team is changing how business users interact with various Microsoft Business Applications, including Dynamics 365 / Power Platform and Microsoft Office. Our team is chartered with building various models that are shipped across these various Microsoft product lines. Our goal is to bring the state-of-the-art research to Microsoft products. The team works at the intersection of large language models and other machine learning solutions, building Artificial Intelligence models on large scale structured. We are empowered to innovate, take risks, and fail fast. We are looking for an Applied Scientist II, for Business Copilot Artificial Intelligence Team, to contribute to the data science efforts in delivering compelling copilot experiences within various areas in Microsoft Business Applications including the conversion of natural language to code/query.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience creating publications (e.g., patents, peer-reviewed academic papers).
- 2+ years of academic or industry experience in areas of machine learning, data science with preference for Natural Language Processing
2+ years of experience in C#, C++, Java or Python. - Research experience (publications) in the following areas is preferred machine learning, deep learning, NLP, data mining, information retrieval.
Applied Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
