As the Principal Program Manager (Technology Transformation), you will be responsible for technology adoption within the construction team, you will be responsible for setting the vision for the systems development and automation efforts. Driving the creation of solutions that makes project management in all aspects of schedule, cost, safety and overall health easier will be a key responsibility. If you enjoy working under pressure and deadlines and have a strong ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, while driving clarity this role is for you. Additional requirements for this role include: the ability to work across organizational boundaries, especially with stakeholders in engineering to build alignment and drive impact. You will also possess strong business acumen and mental agility to ramp quickly and have the negotiation skills to prioritize and deliver solutions across our diverse business requirements and portfolio.

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. Within CO+I, the Datacenter Construction Design (DCD) team is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business. We have a global portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction projects. As part of the digital transformation journey, we are looking for an experienced and seasoned Principal Program Manager with proven success in delivering industry leading technology solutions to drive productivity gains and efficiencies.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing aggressive systems vision and direction for the digital transformation efforts in construction.
  • Lead the development efforts of the Construction Project Management Platform with due diligence, partnering with Engineering Procurment Construction (EPC) stakeholders and the software development team.
  • Leading the technology adoption and standardization of tools through our entire portfolio, aimed at improving field productivity, knowledge management and agility of the organization.
  • Driving business intelligence solutions aimed at delivering keen insights and building holistic data solutions as a core focus.
  • Building Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions for improved and faster recognition of risks and in helping drive schedule predictability, cost certainty and schedule optimization efforts.
  • Partnering with key stakeholders in the construction leadership team and the software engineering team to prioritize and deliver the roadmap for technology delivery for the organization.
  • Setting the agenda for productization of solutions that are broadly applicable for the construction industry.
