This Finance Manager role supports Microsoft Advertising, a growing $12B+ online Search, Advertising and News business that provides solutions for the world’s top marketers, agencies, content partners and brands. As a member of Corporate Accounting and the Advertising Controllership Team, your overall responsibilities include ensuring complete and accurate financials for the global Advertising business, and supporting financially compliant new Advertising launches.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA or equivalent.
- Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 3+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 5+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Accounting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.

Responsibilities
Accounting Execution and Compliance
- Drives rhythm of accounting run activities for area of responsibility including monthly close and financial reporting responsibilities, implementing accounting and reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with local legislations and statutory requirements.
- Advises and consults with peers, vendors and stakeholder groups regarding accounting controllership matters to ensure accurate accounting and to minimize financial reporting risk.
- Contributes to accounting and financial compliance for Advertising SOX activities to ensure green audit results.
- Meets with internal and external auditors to discuss audit procedures, respond to questions, and provide information and records.
Enablement/Process Improvement
- Supports financially compliant business launches in accordance with Microsoft launch Policy
- Assists in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track, and report accounting transactions. Verifies effective operations with business partners that help with end-to-end processing, payments, accounting, and related finance controls.
- Supports the team in managing priorities and impact in a collaborative environment.
- Provides recommendations to team members and business leaders for systems and process optimization.
