Purpose of the role

We are looking for CTOs and co-founders who love helping digital product team innovate and grow. As part of the Digital Native team, you'll dive deep into customer businesses, embedding yourself with dev teams and tech leaders to craft cutting-edge solutions using Data & AI.

Your mission is to secure the commercial and technical buy-in from customers to adopt Microsoft technology and cloud services. You'll collaborate with strategic Digital Natives across Asia Growth Markets (Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, Japan & Korea), focusing on Azure Cloud's compute, networking, security, data, and AI services. Your role is pivotal in guiding evaluators and decision-makers to make the best choices, while also uncovering new opportunities for the team to explore.

You'll be part of an elite squad of technical, partner, and sales professionals, educating customers at both commercial and technical levels, showcasing and proving our solutions, and clinching those crucial decisions. This role offers a unique chance to hone your sales and technical skills across both Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud technologies.

We're looking for someone with a strong technical presales background and experience with modern software stacks (open source, public cloud, generative AI, event-driven, etc.) A solid grasp of digital native businesses and the AI landscape is essential.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years technology-related presales experience, or
  • bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, machine learning, or related fields

Professional:

  • Proven track record of building deep commercial relationships with senior IT executives in large or highly strategic accounts.
  • Strong desire and ability to quickly and continuously learn new technologies and concepts
  • Proven history of building complex commercial solutions for technology led sales.
  • Ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects.

Technical:

  • Technical experience with modern DevOps and technology stacks, machine learning, and analytics
  • Experience in optimizing cloud resources for cost, performance, and scalability, especially for compute-intensive AI workloads.

Languages:

  • Fluent in both English and Japanese

  • Lead commercial and technical discussions with customers using consultative sales methodology, hands-on demos, and programs to understand needs and showcase Microsoft solutions.
  • Ability to map customer vision to a technical solution, overcome objections and persuade others to your point of view, and build a strong business case for investment.
  • Drive commercial propositions and technical assessments to create migration plans aligned with customer goals.
  • Design commercial solutions using technical knowledge and methodology, ensuring agreement from decision-makers.
  • Identify new opportunities to support customer objectives.
  • Scale through partners, facilitating resources and processes.
  • Work with licencing and compliance teams to build complex value-based deals.
