Overview

We are Microsoft's U.S. Subsidiary (MSUS), one of the largest business units to drive major impact to the overall revenue of the company and help to enable both customers and partners across our platforms and products. We are looking to innovate, expand and create new ways to engage and empower in a cohesive One Microsoft motion through a range of core business objectives and products, while infusing thought leadership and human centered design to engage and drive innovation with customers.
We are seeking a Business Envisioning Design Strategist - Customer Business Outcomes who will play a key role in developing and facilitating engagements for AI Transformation with our customers. Specifically, this role will deliver capability to the field sales community to discover and validate the customers’ desired business outcomes, align business stakeholders on prioritizing opportunities and challenges to address, and envision and design solutions to meet those needs and exploring the art of the possible. A Business Envisioning Design Strategist will apply our design thinking methodology, working closely with Account Teams to enable impact. Internally, this role will also serve as a leader for human centered design and facilitation.

In this role, you will be an experienced, versatile design strategist with a deeply rooted passion for improving customer business outcomes through innovation and transformation. This role will focus on identifying, clarifying, and delivering a business outcomes based vision for our customers. The key capability of this role is to align with many different stakeholders with our customers and act as their strategic advisor to visualize the future state.

This person will be expected to speak in the language of the customer and translate their capability needs to the relevant areas of the Microsoft portfolio in order to provide guidance and acceleration to account team orchestration (Account Executive, Account Technology Strategists, Solution Specialists, Industry Advisors, and Cloud Solution Architects).

The role is customer facing and will need to support meetings and presentations to senior executive and board members from both the internal Microsoft and external partner/customer perspective.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years solution sales or solution assessment consulting, or related experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in IT, Business, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years solution sales, technical sales, marketing, advertising, communications, consulting, or channel/business development experience
    • OR relevant certifications from Microsoft or competitive platforms AND 3+ years solution sales, technical sales, marketing, advertising, communications, consulting, or channel/business development experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of enterprise experience in any combination of the following:
    • Workshop facilitation and user research enabling engagements for business strategy/ AI Transformation based on mature innovation and/ or design methodologies
    • User experience strategy and design – storyboards, journey maps, service design, experience maps to assess current state business capabilities and future state vision
    • Storytelling and presentation to business executives
  • 3+ years of experience leading, guiding and collaborating with visual designers for user interface design and future state art of the possible work products.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years in industry-leading creative design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and the Adobe Creative suite
  • 3+ years experience in Visual design
  • 8+ years solution sales or solution assessment consulting, or related experience.
  • 1+ years experience with cross-group responsibilities (e.g., design lead for significant projects with cross-group/cross-country impact and membership).
  • Luma Design Thinking certification or similar.

Solution Assessment IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,100 - $185,400 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $144,000 - $203,500 per year.

Solution Assessment IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate the Business Envisioning process that will validate the customers’ business outcomes, interview stakeholders, facilitate collaborative workshops and drive engaging vision artifacts to drive actionable execution of customer’s business outcomes.
  • Engage directly with customers and account teams to socialize, prepare and execute the CBO Business Envisioning Workshops
  • Work with designers and strategists to create compelling work products to communicate customer vision.
  • Collaborate with industry subject matter experts to incorporate insights into customer engagements
  • Lead multiple, highly complex engagements across various functions, which ultimately coalesce into one comprehensive model for engaging customers in a Business Outcome oriented sales motion
  • Identify growth opportunities in our priority verticals which yield a sustainable advantage for MSUS
  • Work with our investment, field sales and community engagement teams to develop, plan, track and implement a range of long-term investments and drive long-term program sustainability
