Overview

Supply chains are everywhere. Parts in a supply chain come together to create everything from automobiles to data centers to software. Securing these supply chains is critical for ensuring software and hardware security. We’re looking for a technical product manager to build software and hardware supply chain solutions that work for Microsoft as well as our customers and partners.

As a Principal Product Manager- Supply Chain Security in the Azure Office of the CTO you’ll work across internal teams, partners, customers, and the open-source community to design end-to-end supply chain solutions based industry standards, such as the IETF’s (Internet Engineering Task Force) Supply Chain Integrity, Transparency, and Trust (SCITT) standard. Your work will ensure that technologies from our counter-signing services to artifact repositories to policy engines work together to provide a unified solution. Finally, you’ll also work with key customers to understand their requirements and ensure our solution meets their needs. This opportunity will enable you to deepen your expertise in supply chain security as well as design complex security solutions that are easy for customers and partners to adopt.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in software security, hardware security, and/or supply chain security.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, OR product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • You will partner with multiple software and hardware teams engineering teams to design complex technical solutions in the supply chain security area. You also provide key stake holders with data-driven recommendations based on identified risks.
  • You will build relationships with multiple customers and partners on the design of our SCITT-based solution. You’ll understand their environment and challenges in detail.
  • You will collaborate with open-source and industry organizations, providing leadership in supply chain security.
  • You’ll define the success criteria and the relationships for implementing multiple feature areas in this highly complex cross-functional project. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across the business.
  • You will deliver on the roadmap for multiple feature areas that span different divisions. You will track schedules, drive development of staging and implementation plans, and lead governance programs associated with this project.
  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch. You’ll also provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, lead customer support, and define and lead direct customer engagements.
