The SAP Engineering team within Azure Core is a team that has the focus on enabling, helping and supporting SAP to integrate SAP software and services into the Azure platform. Beyond that the team develops solution and reference architectures for SAP workload on the Azure platform. The team is spread globally with two main locations of the SAP headquarter in Walldorf in Germany and the Microsoft headquarter in Redmond, WA.

For further developing integrations of SAP services, we are looking for a software engineer for our development team located in the SAP headquarters in Walldorf/Rot in Germany.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Knowledge of authentication methods in cloud native environments, like OAUTH, SAML, MFA, SSO, Entra ID, certificate authorities.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
• • OR related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
  • OR Python.
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.

• Experience with monitoring and telemetry in cloud native environments
• Experience with deploying landscapes via Terraform and Ansible
• Experience in Kubernetes architecture, setup/installation and the operation in production environments
  
• Experience in working with community driven OSS projects driven on GitHub

• Work with different line of business within SAP which deploy and integrate their SaaS and PaaS applications and platforms in Azure using Kubernetes or other open source frameworks
• Work on analyzing and investigate deployments, develop solutions and work with the Azure Compute Engineering teams to improve and enhance the experience of SAP hosting and deploying their SaaS and PaaS services on the Azure platform.
• Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
• Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
• Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
• Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
