Overview

As a Senior Business Program Manager for the Game Content & Studios organization, you will be tasked with conducting market-based research by collecting and interpreting information including researching existing business and identifying new spaces for Microsoft. You will add value as you synthesize findings into insights across projects, including implications that inform business decisions, leveraging executive presence to influence decisions and proactively identifying expansive ideas for company strategy, often missed by others. Additionally, you will establish and maintain key points of contact with internal teams, define and manage strategy project(s) as a project lead through goals, deliverables, feedback, and timing expectations, providing structure and guidance for others.
The ideal candidate will have experience communicating and advocating insights to business leaders and conveying viewpoints with written documents and influence models through moderate iterations of feedback and vetting.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 3+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex situations, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience in communicating, collaborating, and building relationships with stakeholders and business leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven practice of leadership and cross team collaboration.
  • Experience in the gaming industry and at a global gaming company or studio with demonstrated results in development operational excellence around global compliance strategy against business growth.
Business Strategy IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the conduit contact for Game Content & Studios Operations Strategic Business Engagement team, including leading labor discussions on behalf of the business.
  • Manage strategic projects end-to-end, from ideation and inception through to resolution.
  • Act as an advisor to leadership on a particular area of expertise, leveraging product knowledge, organizational context, financial analysis and market awareness to guide and inform strategic business decisions.
  • Define and manage Strategy project(s) as a project lead through goals, deliverables, feedback, and timing expectations, providing structure and guidance for others; proactively identifies and address roadblocks.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of customers, competitors, partners, business models, market sizing, and industry trends; lead market landscape analyses and reviews of companies of potential interest; provide guidance to business partners to inform decision-making.
  • Develop an understanding of Microsoft Game Studios product portfolio, strategic priorities, gaps, and potential opportunities; drive evaluation of strategic alternatives (e.g., buy, build, partner) and acquisition alternatives; ensure product roadmap, go-to-market, integration plans, and related issues are considered.
  • Execute and/or resolve moderate-impact business matters.
  • Serve as an important contributor to clients and colleagues by providing actionable advice on matters grounded in in-depth understanding of product.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate transactional documents.
  • Monitor business activity to ensure compliance policies/standards are followed.
  • Support delivery of external communications on behalf of the Strategy function.
  • Collaborate effectively within work group and across Legal and Corporate Affairs functions on client issues.
Problem Solving & Insights:
  • Conduct market-based research by collecting and interpreting information (e.g., financial statements, reports, analyses, stakeholder feedback, expert calls) including researching existing business and identifying new spaces for Microsoft Gaming; conducts analyses (e.g., financial modeling) and leverage analyses of others to synthesize information.
  • Recommend solutions to complex global business scenarios applying requirements to said solutions.
  • Create frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights.
Communication:
  • Communicate and advocate insights to business leaders (e.g., Senior Directors, GM-level, CVP) and convey viewpoints through written documents (e.g., memos, reports) and influence models (e.g., meetings, presentations) through moderate iterations of feedback and vetting; build end-to-end storylines and create outlines across multiples projects for less experienced colleagues to leverage.
  • Influence senior decision-making by providing clear communications, challenging ideas, and adapting messages to complex nuances.
  • Deliver project findings recommendations, and implications to senior executives to facilitate senior discussions and decision making.
