The Finance Manager, Financial Operations & Analysis, is responsible for providing centralized controllership functions for all people-related expenses flowing through payroll by utilizing standardized processes and compliance for the organization, and then engaging with leaders to effect changes that align with evolving business needs. This position interfaces with a global leadership team and requires cross functional collaboration with key stakeholders to drive Finance Operations’ key performance metrics and analytics. Keys to success include driving to a global process standard where possible, while relentlessly pursuing opportunities to automate and improve our analytical and reporting capabilities.
In this role, you will bring an operational excellence mindset, champion continuous process improvement, and be adept at getting things done with the ability to dive into the details. Additionally, you will exhibit curiosity, be a fast learner, and have a passion for understanding business needs to influence stakeholders at varying levels across Microsoft on a regular basis to meet business and corporate deadlines.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) of experience manipulating large volumes of data.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 5+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 3+ years accounting or finance experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA or equivalent.
- 2+ years of work experience in financial analysis, accounting, and/or process management and improvement.
- Ability to build relationships with individuals at all levels, as well as deal with ambiguity, working in an ambiguous and fast paced environment conforming to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information.
- Cross-group collaboration, communication, sound business judgement and partnership competencies, along with the ability to mobilize a team to a common goal.
- Work independently with organization skills and an ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities.
Accounting IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with 100+ Statutory and Corporate Controllers for the creation, reconciliation, and analysis of payroll-related general ledger accounts across global entities to ensure accurate accounting functions are executed efficiently, while keeping controls and compliance top of mind.
- Own the reviews of journal entries, account reconciliations, forecasting, balance sheet and P&L (profit & loss) analysis and other accounting-related work for domestic and international entities, while partnering with the business to meet organizational and corporate deadlines.
- Governs vendor employees work per the business process outsourcing model to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies, drive standardization, and meet deadlines, while proactively providing feedback to vendor management and recommending improvements.
- Utilize data and insights to anticipate business partner needs and identify new sources of information in order to support business strategy.
- Investigate and resolve business partner inquiries, accounting deviations and other data anomalies to drive continuous improvements and deliver actionable insights.
- Implements process improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
