Overview

Microsoft Netherlands is looking for an Employee Communications Lead to join our CEO Office and play a pivotal role in employee engagement. As Employee Communications lead, your primary goal is to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and commitment among the Microsoft Netherlands employees. You will focus on designing and implementing strategies and initiatives that foster a positive work culture and enhance the overall employee experience. You are responsible to ensure effective communication between Microsoft Netherlands CEO, Senior Management Team and employees.

Responsibilities include managing onboarding programs, workplace culture initiatives (such as Employee Research Groups), overseeing the people management community, and handling NL branding, employee communications and events.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in internal communications and change management
  • Fluent business proficient English and Dutch.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience supporting senior executives in an executive communications role.
  • Clear experience working with social media platforms.
  • Experience in technology industry

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coaches others on strategy development internally for employee communications, ensuring consistency of voice and branding across messages and channels.
  • Drives an over-arching cadence of communications and platforms (top of mind, other internal initiatives).
  • Collaborates internally with others to create communications and develop platforms to inform and facilitate employee communications, including negotiating with collaborators to align priorities which may include leader communications like all-hands live events, SharePoint sites, organization emails, organization changes, etc.
  • Measures, plans, and informs team efforts by utilizing data and insights from internal surveys and feedback channels.
  • Coaches others on and creates content and storytelling that is current and aligned with internal and external relevant corporate guidance (e.g., legal and policy regulations, financial).
  • Drives the adoption and use of new technology and tools to help facilitate two-way dialogue between leaders and employees.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Expertise in communication strategy development and execution, bringing a hands-on mentality.
  • Proficiency in content creation, including copy-writing and content/campaign strategy.
  • Experience managing internal communication channels and tactics.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in brand management and maintaining brand consistency.
  • Proficient organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and leverage data to inform communication strategies.
  • Expertise in storytelling and messaging, with the ability to create narratives based on messaging frameworks.
  • Knowledge of available communication channels and how to leverage them effectively.
