We're seeking a talented Software Quality Engineer II to analyse, debug, design and implement effective and scalable solutions that improve product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in Scripting languages like Python or shell
  • Hands-on experience with devices or SOC.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and vendor management abilities.
  • Knowledge of ESD compliance and storage management.
  • Ability to handle device rework independently.
  • Familiarity with procurement tracking and mechanical design cooperation.
  • Technical proficiency in setup Infrastructure and testing.
  • Experience with Procurement, Shipping & Inventory management process & tools.

Other Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience leading lab operators.
  • Some experience diagnosing power and performance issues on a Windows device.
  • Experience dealing with geographically diverse teams.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to make progress in the face of it.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven
  • Some domestic and international travel may be necessary

Responsibilities

  • Services and Supervision:
    • Provide services to all engineers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
    • Supervise the lab operator team, guiding and supporting their activities.
  • Budget and Vendor Management:
    • Prepare yearly lab budget plans, forecasting expenses and resource needs.
    • Establish and maintain contact with various vendors, ensuring timely procurement of components.
    • Track required components, obtain quotes, lead times, and specs.
    • Compare vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective and high-quality procurement.
  • Lab Organization:
    • Continuously organize the lab to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
    • Maintain awareness and control over storage, ensuring proper inventory management.
    • Conduct and contribute to quarterly asset audits.
    • Provide special care and preparation before LT visits.
  • Lab Setup Management:
    • Map lab setups, including location, components, and owners.
    • Monitor utilization, tracking uptime, downtime, idle periods, and maintenance slots.
    • Identify opportunities for setup sharing and asset reuse to optimize resources.
  • Device Rework and Compliance:
    • Work with multiple stakeholders to understand rework requirements and independently handle the rework process.
    • Ensure compliance with ESD standards to protect sensitive components.
  • Storage Management:
    • Organize storage areas, ensuring efficient use of space and easy access to components.
    • Determine what should be ordered for storage, considering cost and warranty implications.
  • Shipping and Cooperation:
    • Coordinate with the Maintenance and Infrastructure team for shipping and logistics.
    • Track procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues.
  • Procurement Tracking:
    • Gather requirements from teams and communicate with vendors and distributors.
    • Track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any procurement issues.
  • Mechanical Design Cooperation:
    • Collaborate on reworks, assembly, and modifications of different setups.
