Overview

Microsoft Manufacturing Test & Infrastructure (MTI) team is expanding in Vietnam! Come work with Surface, Xbox, and products that have yet to be released to the market! We are the team that builds the software to ensure the customer is delighted with the device experience. Our software runs on the manufacturing production line delivering solutions for all features in the products. We are looking for a key technical contributor in the fast paced, high energy team to create world-class software that interacts with our world-class hardware to build the next generation platform that will be used for future products. The candidate must not only know how to design and implement complete software solutions, but also understand various domain technologies include imaging, sensors, display, video, 5G, audio and others.

Windows Devices Group’s Manufacturing Test & Infrastructure team at Microsoft is seeking a passionate, driven, and intellectually curious Senior Software Development Engineer to drive impact and deliver results in the world of Devices Manufacturing Test Solution at Microsoft. The Manufacturing Test & Infrastructure (MTI) Group is a core member in the Manufacturing and Sourcing (MnS) organization, which is part of the Experience and Devices (E+D) group at Microsoft. The MTI group is responsible for developing test solution for manufacturing testing of all Microsoft branded hardware devices. We develop partnerships with our internal hardware and software engineering and development teams and our third-party external suppliers to deliver value-added test solutions that delight our customers and deliver a fantastic Windows experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 4+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 1+ year(s) enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Software development experience with C++, C# or similar programing language.
  • Proven ability to execute in all phases of the software development life cycle, resulting in high-quality software, delivered on time.
  • Self-motived and superior problem-solving skills to solve ambiguous problems under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills in English and Mandarin. Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical leadership is a must. Able to work as a technical lead to define, design, debug and deliver a complete software solution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 5+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 3+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Good knowledge and background on hardware modules such as Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, Audio/Video, Optical, Sensors, Multi-touch, etc. Knowing how to program and test these hardware modules is desired.
  • Experience in high volume consumer electronics manufacturing will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with key manufacturing partners on significant advances in design, engineering, manufacturing, and test of high-volume products.
  • You will work with a team of engineers to build integrated solutions that include hardware and software, where the software is deployed to manufacturing facilities via Azure, all over the world. Along with providing solutions for specific product lines like Surface, Xbox and accessories,
  • You will participate in defining and building the new platform that will be leveraged by all hardware products. Technical strengths must include knowledge of hardware and software development and quality assurance. Knowledge of medium to high volume consumer product manufacturing, hardware production lifecycles, and new hardware product launch processes are strongly desired.
