Overview

The Microsoft Applied Sciences Group (ASG), a nimble startup group within Microsoft’s Windows division, seeks a candidate to help create products that push the envelope of user experiences at the intersection of software, machine learning, and hardware. We offer a unique opportunity to define, own, and build products and features that will delight and touch the lives of millions of users. Senior Software Engineer be at the forefront of technology, tackling interesting and complicated challenges.

You’ll be joining our team of senior software developers, working on both standalone products and Windows technologies. Our team is currently focused on next-generation Windows and App features powered by machine learning. Our focus changes often, so you should be comfortable working on many different projects and different areas of the tech stack.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C/C++, C#, Go, or Rust.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years End-to-end project development experience.
  • 2+ years developing and debugging production-level code

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, Go, or Rust.
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, Go, or Rust.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience with any of the following: machine learning, UX design, WinRT, IoT, embedded systems development.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
