Qualifications

The capability to be effective requires a senior level program management executive who has held delivery leadership roles within global a services organization or Fortune 500 corporations. The ability to connect and relate to senior customer executives is an imperative easily and effectively.

  • Ten years as primary delivery lead on transformational $30M - 75M+ Services engagements. Demonstrated capability in managing large, global, complex implementations from sales through to go live.
  • Experience in end-to-end ownership including Financials, Customer/Stakeholder Management, strong negotiation skills and ability to influence without authority are essential.
  • Proven, deep knowledge of a competing Tier 1 implementation methodology used to deliver large, transformational implementations will be considered.
  • Ability to lead technical conversations
  • Ten years working with offshore development organizations.
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to build, extend and maintain senior client relationships with CIO, CEO and CFO executive steering committee members and establish strong governance models and processes.
  • Exceptional communication, team building and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead consulting teams comprising of 10+ senior level domain experts.

Education:

  • Preferred higher education (Doctorate, Masters, or bachelor’s degree) however background experience 12-15 years+ of Program Management and the ability to drive impact, is key.
  • Professional Project/Program Management Accreditation (PMP or PgMP Preferred)
  • 8+ years of financial management experience
  • Agile OR CSPO OR CSPM OR Agile coach or Scrum Certification beneficial
  • Azure Certifications, Cloud/Industry Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

The Program Director enables both Microsoft and Customer outcomes through orchestration of large delivery teams, end-to-end. They drive Industry Solutions Delivery largest and most complex global programs across the delivery lifecycle, using their executive expertise to remove barriers and deliver successful outcomes.

The Program Director is a key Industry Solutions Delivery role in managing a successful engagement, maintaining program health, and leading a team of delivery professionals. The selected Program Director candidate will:

  • Demonstrate proven leadership skills, with intuitive people skills and a strategic mindset.
  • Have good understanding of Cloud Principles and Azure Offerings
  • Have a proven track of delivering successfully end to end delivery of multi-million-dollar ($30-75M+) programs, including Fixed Fee Programs
  • Identify opportunities for repeat and new business
  • Have a proven successful track record delivering complex programs, in an international environment to realize customers digital transformation objectives.
  • Have a proven track record of bringing in diverse stakeholders across multiple business units, orchestrating and prioritizing their focus towards project goals to enable consistent value to the customer with a very high-quality bar.
  • Have a proven track record in leading successful recovery efforts on programs that are failing to deliver on customer outcomes.
  • Have hands on experience in scaled Agile, modern delivery practices and enabling product centric outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Lead effective executive stakeholder management practices.
  • Partnering with Microsoft Area Account teams drive Customer Steering Committees to successful outcomes.
  • Effective internal and external stakeholders' management, ability to influence without authority.
  • Orchestrates the delivery ecosystem across a varied environment of technology and partners, connecting cross-functional, global, and virtual project teams to deliver a successful program.
  • Hold a solid understanding of business financial practices and a deep understanding of program financials, proactively oversees robust financial governance.
  • Manages and facilitates client problems and solution escalation process serving as a liaison with Microsoft Senior Leadership to ensure effective resolution.
  • Role model our Leadership principles demonstrating allyship and creating an inclusive environment oriented to trust, accountability, open communication, and creative thinking.
  • Continually demonstrate a growth mindset, acquiring new skills whilst maintaining your development and adaptability.
  • Ongoing demonstration of thought leadership and presence in WW project and program management professional communities, both internally and externally.
  • Travel can vary based on country and customer locations and may be up from 50% to 75%

You will participate as part of an integrated team responsible for:

  • Champion Cloud Consumption by partnering across organizational units to create a One Microsoft experience for our customers, while seeking opportunities in delivery to maximize our customer and Microsoft business goals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of empathy in anticipating customer reactions and partnering across organizations to effectively mitigate, evaluate and resolve customer requests or concerns.
  • Identifying further opportunities to maximize the customers investment or progress towards further desired business outcomes.
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking into achieving even greater benefits and share insights, customer experiences and lessons learned into Microsoft Leadership, driving a cycle of continuous improvement, evolving our engagement with customers.
  • Participation in the pre-sales process - approximately 10% of the time.
  • Program execution - approximately 80% of the time.
  • Building capability in Microsoft Project Management - approximately 10% of the time.
