Overview
The Core Services team is responsible for the foundational services of Microsoft Teams spanning Teams FrontEnd server, Middle Tier, Auth, Gateway, Storage, Services hosting and Observability infrasturcture among others. It provides exciting opportunities for building resilient, highly available, and highly scalable services and systems that meet the needs of an ever-growing user base of the fastest growing product in Microsoft's history. This is a unique opportunity to hone your system design, and your exposure to cutting edge technology stack (.NET/ASP.NET Core, Azure Cloud, Redis Cache, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure DevOps etc.) and application architecture skills offering E2E ownership and broad scope to have a huge impact.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion in designing and building very large-scale distributed systems.
- Solid data analysis, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Experience working with Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience in building monitoring and analytics solutions is a plus.
- Drive to improve performance, availability and supportability of services and systems.
- Drive to increase efficiency through automation.
- Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Excellent cross group collaboration, negotiation and communication skills.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.

Responsibilities
- Own design, development and dev ops of observability infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability and resiliency.
- Customer obsessions with strong ability to analyze requirements and iterate over design based on feedback.
- Implement monitoring and analytics solutions to be used across services.
- Perform live site/dev ops engineering for services and infra you own with top notch monitoring, dashboards, and TSGs.
- Collaborate with diverse team members residing in various parts of the globe.
