Overview
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Capacity Management team is chartered with managing the Capacity procurement and delivery for specialty compute capacity resources across multiple organizations across Microsoft. As a Technical Program Manager of this team, you will work on ensuring capacity is allocated across the internal teams at Microsoft within defined Service Level Agreement (SLA). Attention to detail in this role is essential as the allocations you execute tie to billing properties across the company. You will need to be acquainted with Azure and the various specialty compute resources in which they support.

An ideal candidate will have some experience as level 2 in operational service desk (tech-link experience), knowledge of Azure capacity, and MUST be very customer service focused.

A key part of your role will be building relationships with partners like Bing, LinkedIn, Azure OpenAI, AML, M365, Finance Managers and Azure Capacity Management. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
- Experience with Capacity Management
- Experience with Azure, Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint, Managing Data and understanding Databases
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Customer First Mindset with experience working across multiple levels of individuals
- Experience with Graphics Processing Unit Stock Keeping Units (GPU SKUs) and Quota Management
- Knowledge/Experience with the different Deployment Methods within Azure
- Experience with KUSTO
- Understanding of CPU knowledge within Azure
- Ability to balance multiple requests in parallel
- Ability to work in a team with a “Start-up” mentality
Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities
- Drive capacity allocations from the point of cluster live to usable to the team within a defined SLA commitment
- Execute on day-to-day capacity requirements which include triaging requests, getting any needed clarification from customers, approval from management and allocating their capacity
- Work directly with Azure Capacity Management to allocate awarded capacity
- Analyze existing capacity on a regular basis using tools like Excel Power Pivot and KUSTO and Power BI. Provide input to leadership updates based on this analysis.
- Fluency with technical concepts and language (ability to discuss technical issues) with regards to Azure capacity, quota and deploying. Not coding but need to understand the technical process and be able to discuss.
- Run existing queries and PowerShell scripts with minor modifications (variable changes), again not looking for a coding person, but need to understand PowerShell and copy and run scripts.
