Azure Machine Learning (AML) offers a fully managed AI platform to accelerate the research, development, and operations of AI powered intelligent solutions at scale.

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our team! Do you want to join a team entrusted with serving all internal and external ML workloads? We are already serving billions of requests per day on the most cutting-edge scenarios across the company. You will be joining the ML Lifecycle team that is working on new developer platform, influencing the overall product, driving new features and platform capabilities from preview to General Availability, and many exciting problems on the intersection of AI and cloud.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about designing and building highly reliable, available platform to support service at scale. You will also be expected to work on high throughput/low latency scenarios and drive performance optimization capabilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, or Python

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in Network architecture and concepts (HTTP and TCP Protocols, Authentication and Sessions, etc.)
  • Experience in distributed computing and architecture.
  • Experience in developing low-latency systems.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Platform and capability development experience in Azure or other Cloud technologies highly preferred.
  • Experience in developing and operating high scale, reliable online services.
  • Knowledge and experience in OSS, Docker, Kubernetes, .NET, C#, Java, Python or equivalent programming languages.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
