Overview

  • The goal of the Central Finance Team (CFT) team is to provide key insights that help Microsoft make better financial and business decisions. Our team is at the hub of Microsoft's financial activities, being a key strategic partner to all sides of the business and serving a diverse set of stakeholders: CFOs, Senior Leadership Team, engineering groups, and sales and marketing teams. It comprises of teams focused on FP&A across all of the company’s financial activities, Investor Relations, Procurement & Finance Data.

This role will help provide actionable insights for our Productivity & Business Processes segment, helping to tell the story of our productivity, professional network and copilot offerings for our Senior Leadership Team, investors and Board of Directors. In addition, this role will co-lead the model, forecast and analytics for commercial bookings to provide insights into the future revenue health of the business.

As a Senior Finance Manager, Central Finance Team you will have curiosity and a passion for understanding products, sales motions, and customer use cases. They will translate analytics and insights into executive-level reporting for Senior Leadership Team, investors and Board of Directors. Additionally, you will build connections to design, scale, and promote new frameworks across the organization.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Productivity & Business Processes: Partner with finance peers within Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) and Engineering organizations to understand drivers of business performance and communicate these effectively to finance leadership and the executive team. Lead forecast syncs to understand changes in outlook, risks and potential upsides to the results.

  • Commercial Bookings: Co-lead Bookings for the Commercial business. Identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and develop insights on variances to plan. Provide thought-leadership to evolve the model to take into account changes in business practices, acquisitions and new frameworks.

  • Compete: Be an active participant in the compete v-team, staying close to market trends and competitor activity that may influence or impact the commercial business and present these insights to senior leaders.

  • Adhoc projects: incubate new frameworks, drive deeper analytics on Revenue performance of key products and key competitors.
