Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Security and Sustainability (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide.

We are looking for a passionate, high energy supply chain professional to help build create sustainable advantage through supply chain. The role of Sourcing Manager will be focusing on key areas:

• Support sourcing management and strategies (33%)

• Cost and operations management (33%)

• Support driving supplier performance and compliance (33%) Meanwhile, s/he needs to support strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support cloud supply chain overall objectives and strategies

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
  • Familiar with business tools (e.g. word, excel modeling, power point slides) and able to generate quality outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in leading cross functional teams
  • Extensive knowledge in hardware sourcing and supply chain
  • Demonstrated track record in supplier negotiation and management
  • Proven capabilities in operating in a growing, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Distinctive problem solving leadership and analytical thinking for continuous improvement
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships across multiple layers in the organization
  • Excellent communication and synthesizing skills of both written and verbal
  • Cloud / high tech supply chain experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Responsibilites

  • Sourcing management o Perform market assessment and benchmarking to support sourcing strategy development o Support category/commodity sourcing for sustaining programs to ensure advantaged cost and sufficient continuity of supply
    • Manage contracting activities with Legal and ensure contract reflect MSFT’s cross functional engagements with suppliers
  • Cost and operations management o Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive supplier for cost competitiveness with sourcing tools (e.g. Cost modeling)
    • Run weekly, monthly, quarter review with team on cost and operations KPIs
    • Support ad-hoc cost issues e.g. tariffs / import export cost, cost inflation
    • Support cost and supply chain operations needs relevant to system integrators e.g. invoice, PO, inventory requirements o Continuous improvement of operations processes
  • Manage supplier performance and compliance o Ensure supplier compliant with MSFT requirements (E.g. security, social responsibility, payment terms)
    • Coordinate business review discussions with cross-functional participation
    • Ensure supplier deliver corrective actions on time from business review / audits
    • Support CSSC teams to drive suppliers toward their operational and cost metrics
