Overview

The Microsoft Security Engineering team is looking for a Chief of Staff. This role will report to the CVP and partner with the Leadership Team to manage team business operations, finance operations, team communications, customer engagements and culture investments. The Chief of Staff will manage the team's rhythm of business, deliver on resource planning and management, drive team and executive communications, CVP’s customer engagements and develop and manage the team’s culture.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with proven skills in driving key initiatives with results through engagement with internal partners, have a solid process and business acumen across program management, financial management, planning, data analytics, and business/performance management. The candidate will be a problem solver and be resourceful, creative, and able to work through others. Strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical thinking are necessary for driving a high level of impact and influence in this capacity.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, program/project management, human resources or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with cross functional teams
Cloud Background Screening Requirement:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 12+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 15+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.

Business Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor providing the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Security with insightful data-driven strategic recommendations
  • Rhythm of the business owner - agenda definition, team/leader preparation, meeting facilitation, action closure working with cross-functional teams (ELT, SLT, LT cadences + QBR/MBR/WBR + annual planning)
