Overview

The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is seeking a visionary and experienced marketing leader to serve as the Head of Creator & Fandom. This role will shape how Microsoft shows up in culture through creators and fandoms, bringing modern storytelling and influencer collaboration to life across our Commercial businesses—including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Security. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in creator strategy, cultural marketing, and community engagement, and will lead a cross-functional effort to elevate Microsoft's relevance in the creator economy and fan-driven ecosystems.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 7+ years experience in creator/influencer marketing, social-first campaigns, or cultural storytelling
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5 + years of experience managing creative, strategic, marketing, or cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years experience developing and executing creator and fandom strategies at scale in real time.
  • Experience with social listening and monitoring tools (Sprinklr, Brandwatch, etc)

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 9+ years experience in creator/influencer marketing, social-first campaigns, or cultural storytelling
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 4+ years experience in creator/influencer marketing, social-first campaigns, or cultural storytelling
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
  • Experience collaborating with creative, production, analytics, and product marketing functions.

Integrated Marketing M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead creator and fandom strategies aligned to product priorities and commercial goals across multiple business lines.
  • Build compelling briefs, content frameworks, and creator playbooks to scale storytelling efforts.
  • Partner closely with Brand Partnerships to identify and activate around high-visibility moments tied to fandoms and intellectual property (IP).
  • Own creator identification, relationship development, and collaboration workflows—including internal and external creator talent.
  • Drive creative strategy for culturally relevant campaigns, and advocate for creator perspectives to senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Lead and manage a team focused on creator content capture and end-to-end production.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to activate fandoms through immersive content, experiences, and community storytelling.
  • Champion performance-based creative experimentation and platform-native storytelling approaches.
  • Build partnerships with product marketing, brand, analytics, and regional teams to amplify business impact.
