Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of cloud infrastructure and security operations including experience with configuration and security tooling and operations at scale
- 4+ years of large network / security architecture ownership at a large service provider or cloud provider.
- 4+ years of customer facing experience supporting complex infrastructure products or solutions.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection
- OR Master's Degree or Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
- CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft security products and solutions
- Prior experience with deploying, testing, and troubleshooting Microsoft security products and solutions for the cloud
- Experience with hands on cloud infrastructure development and operations
- Leadership skills, including the ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across multiple business groups with clear intent.
Security Operations Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and be a key contributor for developing and implementing a comprehensive roadmap for augmenting the security of the Microsoft Azure Cloud and on prem infrastructure and platforms, tools, and processes.
- Define and lead cross-organizational alignment of technical standards, processes, and technologies for increasing the security of Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure and hardware and software platforms and tools in support of the cloud infrastructure.
- Identify, define, and drive implementation of security controls and associated remediation steps.
- Research, improve, design, optimize and drive implementation of built-in enforcement capabilities, thereby automating Security Development Operations and related automation tooling and processes.
- Identify and support driving closure of critical security gaps on our infrastructure both in the cloud and on-prem including platforms, tools, and processes.
- Serve as cloud security and security operations Subject Matter Expert within Microsoft organizations.
- Participate in detailed design, code reviews, bug/issue triage with engineering teams, and support well informed security decisions in harmony with business and engineering goals
- In a globally shared responsibility against emerging threats, contribute to renowned forums, Microsoft’s customers, internal product development, and existing product enhancements.
