Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Member of Technical Staff - Web to help build the Copilot Web Platform that powers the experiences on copilot.microsoft.com, Edge Browser and Window OS. You’ll work in a deeply iterative, collaborative, fast-paced environment to bring our technology to millions of users around the world, and ensure it’s delivered with safety and reliability in mind. Responsibilities
As a Member of Technical Staff - Web, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Design and build a high-performance front-end platform that drives multiple complex web applications.
  • Ship delightful, AI powered experiences that will shape how millions of people will interact with AI in the future
  • Empower developers to build the most performant product experiences through tooling, primitives and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Eng, Design and Product leadership to prioritize features and deliver a world-class AI companion to the world
  • Join a small team of passionate product engineers with deep frontend expertise who are obsessed with building beautiful and performant products.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 4 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Typescript and React
OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 8 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Typescript and React
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proficient background in Web Performance optimizations, browser internals and scaling the web stack.
  • Take a user-centric approach to product development, prioritizing solutions that result in the best user experience and have the technical expertise to pull it off.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are comfortable making progress in ambiguity.
  • Enjoy working closely with cross-functional partners and teammates in an inclusive, curious culture.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
