The OneDrive/SharePoint (ODSP) team is looking for a Principal Group Engineering Manager to lead the ODSP Authentication organization. We aim to enhance our available, reliable, scalable platform to utilize existing and future tiered storage options. We aim to leverage existing and new tiered storage options to increase storage efficiency and expand into the archival/backup and restore business. We aim for world class compliance of this system to continue onboarding high demand, high value customers. We aim to enhance overall service health, efficiency, and scale across O365 (Office365) by onboarding internal partners to our highly scalable and compliant authentication, storage, and queue offerings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience in building and shipping production grade software or services.
  • 8+ years of experience with large scale highly available/reliable services.
  • 8+ years people management experience.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and growing organizations.

Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Partner across stakeholders to develop a strategic roadmap future authentication option.
  • Partner with key services to ensure a strategic scale roadmap, while assisting with near term capacity.
  • Partner with finance to provide clear capacity projections and improved efficiency.
  • Work with leaders and other team members to shape technical strategy and architecture investments.
  • Scale up the organization through hiring to support accelerating our mission.
  • Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains engineers.
