Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
    • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL or distributed systems.
  • Proven experience driving multiple features from ideation to launch.

Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to technically engage with customers to understand pain points and opportunities, validate their high scale database solutions and architecture, translating insights into product features that differentiate Azure Postgres.
  • Drive features that are envisioned from ideation to exploration/validation with customers to launch, including partnering with marketing, finance.
  • Define and evolve the long-term vision for Azure Postgres, aligning with Microsoft’s broader data platform strategy and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and support teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable Postgres services.
  • Stay connected with the Postgres community, contributing to and leveraging open-source innovation to enhance Azure’s managed offering.
  • Partner with marketing and field teams to drive adoption, create compelling messaging, and support customer onboarding.
  • Use telemetry, customer feedback, and market analysis to inform decisions, measure success, and drive growth.
