Overview

Are you passionate about driving incredible customer journeys? Global Marketing Engines and Experiences (E&E) provides the foundation for all Marketing engines, technology, and marketing experiences across the commercial marketing organization. This allows us to streamline how we plan, execute, and report on all of Microsoft’s marketing activities around the world, and ensure we communicate with our customers using a consistent voice and approach across paid and organic touchpoints.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Journeys & SEO, the Director of Cross-Channel Journeys will lead a team to drive end-to-end optimization of customer journeys across every digital touchpoint—web, email, social, paid media, events, search, and in-product experiences. Your mandate is to connect these interactions into a cohesive lifecycle that moves prospects seamlessly from discovery through retention, driving measurable pipeline and revenue impact. You and your team will translate business objectives into journey frameworks grounded in data from our analytics team. Leveraging persona insights, analytics platforms, Customer Data Platform (CDP) segments, and attribution models, you will identify friction points, prioritize improvements, and evaluate against success metrics. Your work will include drafting test plans, defining nurture logic, and coordinating real-time triggers that deliver the right message to the right audience at the right moment. Collaboration is central to the role.

Your team will partner closely with channel owners and the analytics team to ensure every initiative aligns with privacy requirements and performance goals. You will influence with data, guiding stakeholders toward a unified, customer-centric approach, partnering closely with our product marketing teams on audience definitions. An impactful command of AI (Artificial Intelligence) driven agent technologies is essential for this role. You will leverage predictive models, generative AI content tools, and AI agents to surface behavioral insights, automate experimentation, and dynamically tailor experiences at scale. Familiarity with integrating AI signals into journey orchestration will enable faster decision making and more precise targeting. By harnessing these capabilities, you will transform the data we receive into proactive recommendations that accelerate conversion, deepen engagement, and continuously optimize every stage of the customer lifecycle.

We need hands-on experience across multiple marketing channels, expertise turning insights into action, and a passion for informing experiences that resonate. You should be comfortable working autonomously, skilled at distilling complex data into clear recommendations, and adept at communicating with both technical and nontechnical partners as well as to senior management within the organization.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.
