The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, an organization within CE&S, is leading the effort to enable customer success on the Microsoft Cloud by harnessing leading, AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to deliver innovative solutions that accelerate business value, drive operational excellence and nurture long term loyalty. One of the key mechanisms in which Microsoft activates the incredible talent of its technical teams for customer success is through Microsoft Unified. Unified enables a proactive approach with customers that results in accelerated value creation and sustained growth for Microsoft Cloud. It serves as a growth engine for the company by getting hands-on with customers to understand their priorities and help drive adoption and optimization at speed.

As the Senior Director, Unified Business Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the strategic vision and success for our multi-billion support and success business. This role demands a leader with a visionary mindset, impeccable business acumen, and a strategic approach to ensure the business meets its financial and operational objectives. This role will navigate a multitude of stakeholders including close partnership with Finance, Business Planning, Sales Strategy and Unified Solution Group’s LT.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field AND 8+ years in leading business strategy and/or product strategy teams
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 6+ in leading business strategy and/or product strategy teams
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance.
  • 2+ years people management experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field AND 15+ years in leading business strategy and/or product strategy teams
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 12+ years leading business strategy and/or product strategy teams
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, and/or Finance.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
  • Experience running topline & bottom-line results for a defined business.
  • Experience working in professional services, support and success businesses.
  • Deep experience leading product development, sales or delivery teams.
  • Proficiency in market needs analysis, research and competitive benchmarking.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and improving customer experience.

Business Strategy M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • People Management:
    • Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of the strategic narrative for the Unified business, define the business’s success measures and own the three-year growth strategy to ensure the business reaches its business and financial objectives.
  • Business Prioritization: Work closely with the leaders of our four primary product lines - Enterprise, Partner, Value Acceleration and Mission Critical – to align strategies and goals to ensure one cohesive portfolio strategy and plan.
  • Portfolio Management: Ensure the Microsoft Unified portfolio remains anchored on its core mission and financial goals executing across a single business roadmap.
  • Business Model & Monetization: Develop the business model and monetization strategies for the portfolio, determine pricing for product releases, and own both topline and bottom-line objectives in partnership with the product service line leaders.
  • Agreement Strategies: Develop and implement a single agreement and commercialization strategy across the Unified portfolio to help fuel customer adoption & growth
  • Business Insights & Management: Establish success measures for the business and manage health insights, prioritize improvement initiatives to mitigate business risks and drive continuous improvement rhythms.
  • Continuous Improvement Programs: Create a culture that drives ongoing learning and improvement. Adapt strategies based on market feedback and success measures.
  • Business Value Realization: Regularly represents the Unified business at senior leadership levels to articulate business performance, gaps and needed changes to maximize results.
