Overview

The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is driving the marketing transformation of Microsoft’s largest and fastest-growing commercial cloud businesses. We are seeking a Creative Lead – Social to spearhead the visual and storytelling strategy across our commercial social ecosystem. This role will bring brand affinity and audience engagement to life across TikTok, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, Facebook, X, Reddit, and more — with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, Security, and Power Platform. You’ll ideate, produce, and evolve social-native creative that resonates with commercial and technical audiences. In this role, you will demonstrate an understanding of internet culture, apply design intuition, and contribute a blend of strategic thinking, creative design, and production capabilities.

Job Location: The primary location for this position is Redmond, WA. Additionally, there are three other locations where this role may be based. Candidates who do not reside in one of these four areas will be relocated to Redmond.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field AND 3+ years of experience in social creative, content marketing, or visual storytelling
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in social-first content creation, including video, animation, and real-time visuals.
  • 3+ years experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or related mobile editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Instagram, TikTok).
  • 3+ years experience managing creative projects and agency/in-house creative relationships.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in social creative, content marketing, or visual storytelling
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in social creative, content marketing, or visual storytelling
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience and understanding of commercial audiences and B2B (business-to-business) social storytelling.

Integrated Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with social strategists to shape creative concepts aligned to platform trends and business goals.
  • Lead ideation and development of social-first campaigns, content series, and real-time activations.
  • Craft compelling creative briefs that inspire internal teams and agency partners.
  • Translate insights, trends, and cultural moments into breakthrough visual and editorial concepts.
  • Design or oversee design of quick-turn assets across formats (video, animation, stills).
  • Document and maintain brand lookbooks, style guides, and creative best practices.
  • Advocate for audience-first creative by applying performance insights and testing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure creative output is brand-right, platform-optimized, and strategically sound.
