We are seeking a Senior Product Evangelist and Community Builder to join Microsoft AI.
This hands-on role will help shape how our products are understood, adopted, and celebrated—through storytelling, demos, and direct engagement with users and the AI community.
You’ll be a visible, credible, and technically fluent spokesperson who can translate product capabilities into compelling stories, inspire adoption through real-world use cases, and build deep, authentic relationships that drive community engagement and product advocacy.
You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, communications, and marketing counterparts and help serve as the connective tissue between our internal teams and our users and industry influencers.
By applying to this role based in U.S. Mountain View, CA. You are required to be local to the San Francisco area and be in office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
Product Evangelism
Product Evangelism
- Build relationships with power users.
- Translate technical features into user-centered stories and use cases.
- Maintain a deep understanding of competitive AI tools and trends.
- Take Microsoft AI into the conversations that shape the industry, from events to online spaces.
- Act as a spokesperson for Microsoft AI—comfortable demoing products live and on-camera, if needed.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing colleagues to help amplify user success stories and thought leadership across relevant channels.
Feedback and Insights
- Design and manage consistent processes to gather community feedback through surveys, AMAs, polls, and discussion tracking.
- Regularly synthesize feedback —surfacing trends, concerns, and opportunities for product – into actionable insights for product and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with the central communications, PR, and marketing teams to align community and influencer engagement with overall brand and messaging strategy.
- Maintain strong feedback loops between the community, product teams, and leadership.
Community Leadership and Engagement
- Build, moderate, and grow our Discord server and other community platforms.
- Host community AMAs, fireside chats, and live discussions.
- Identify, nurture, and elevate power users and early adopters.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 5 years in Community Management, Product Evangelism, Technical Product Marketing, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience exploring and leveraging AI tools, with a strong grasp of current trends and a passion for experimenting with emerging technologies.
- Existing relationships with AI thought leaders and communities.
- Strong public speaking, virtual event facilitation, and on-camera experience are preferred.
- Strong writing experience e.g. blogs, social media, forums is preferred.
- 3 years of experience building online communities, facilitating virtual events, or creating an advocacy program from scratch.
- Ability to navigate both startup environments and large corporate structures.
- Empathy for users and a passion for community-driven growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 7 years in Community Management, Product Evangelism, Technical Product Marketing, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience
- 3 years of specialized functional (e.g., AI, technology) experience.
- 4 years of experience presenting complex information to leadership audience(s) and influencing decision making.
- 5 years of experience building online communities, facilitating virtual events, or creating an advocacy program from scratch.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience exploring and leveraging AI tools, with a strong grasp of current trends and a passion for experimenting with emerging technologies.
- Existing relationships with AI thought leaders and communities.
- Strong public speaking, virtual event facilitation, and on-camera experience are preferred.

Communications IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
