The Business Development & Ventures team accelerates Microsoft’s long- and short-term growth by identifying and executing high-impact strategic partnerships. We work across industries and geographies to shape the future of innovation and value creation.

As a Business Development, you will lead strategic deal-making efforts that drive Microsoft’s growth in India and South Asia region. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities, structure complex deals, and build long-term partnerships.

This role offers flexibility with a hybrid work model based in Bangalore.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, or related field AND 12+ years of relevant experience (e.g., consulting, finance, strategy, sales, venture capital, legal, business development, product/project management, or software development)
OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in business or related field AND 10+ years of relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in technology, telco, commerce industry or in a techno-commercial role.

Responsibilities

- Provide industry and market insights to influence customer and partner strategies.
- Develop and articulate compelling business value propositions and competitive positioning.

- Drive strategic partnerships with Indian conglomerates, digital natives, and public sector entities aligned with national digital transformation goals.
- Identify and pursue high-priority partnership opportunities using data-driven insights.
- Lead deal structuring and execution across complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
- Manage a portfolio of deals, including governance, execution planning, and post-deal success tracking.

-Navigate regulatory and policy frameworks relevant to technology and data in India.

- Collaborate with local ecosystem partners including startups, VCs, and academia to foster innovation and co-creation.
