The Marketing Finance team is looking for a finance leader to own key analytics in support of our finance rhythm of business (ROB). This role will enable both scale and develop new investment frameworks for Marketing while driving optimization and resource allocation decisions.
The Marketing Central Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team stewards all marketing investments, tools, processes, and ROB across Marketing. This team is part of the Marketing Finance team and the MCAPS Finance organization. Our team advises Marketing leadership through systems thinking, data-based insights, and compelling storytelling to achieve business objectives.
This Senior Finance Manager role allows you to be at the heart of our Microsoft Finance, driving strategic analytical projects initiatives, providing strategic guidance, collaborating closely with marketing partners, and finding and driving process improvements. Those who thrive in this role will develop a deep interest in data, analytics, partnership, and an ability to work through ambiguity.

Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field
- OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience with Excel, Power BI or similar technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in (or supporting) a marketing organization
- Crisp communication skills (both verbal and written), demonstrating ability and interest in storytelling with data
- Positive and inclusive team member with a desire to excel both personally and professionally
- Demonstrated collaborator with the desire and ability to partner and influence the business

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities
- Partnership: Engage closely with business leaders in Marketing, Procurement, and Finance teams to analyze marketing investments, drive insights, and influence investment prioritization across the Marketing organization.
- Thought Leadership: Incubate innovative marketing frameworks with a focus on return on investment. Partner across business and finance to align on approach and develop methods to leverage best-in-class technology to accomplish goals. Communicate results in a logical, compelling, and understandable message.
- Marketing Data Strategy: Provide insights and recommendations for how Microsoft captures and reports on marketing investment. Apply foundational aspects of Microsoft Finance and Controllership to collect information, perform technical analysis, and complete standardized reporting. Contribute to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and financial models. Provide advice to teammates and peers on data management and usage. Act as a subject-matter expert for data management. Understand the history of data procurement, methods, and actions taken.
- Project Management: Project-manage multiple projects seamlessly and effectively. Integrate varied data sources and assimilate information into a comprehensive, clear narrative. Communicate results in a compelling and understandable message.
- Innovation: Leverage best-in-class technology to accomplish goals. Improve current methods used in collecting data, developing automated financial reporting and forecasting tools, and creating standard and ad-hoc reports. Learn how advanced technology is implemented in Finance and across Microsoft to provide greater depth of analysis.
